Ministering His HOPE in Orlando

Ministering His HOPE in Orlando

Normally I do the typing for Bear Witness Cayman as he tells the story but this time we decided to do things a little different.  Cayman decided this time I would just tell what happened as he says he likes sharing the funny stories but ones like this make things a little harder for him to talk about.

One of the days we went out to minister to the homeless in Orlando we went to a park in the downtown area.  We talked to many different people and we were saddened by what we saw however one of the people that affected us the most was a young lady being sold for prostitution.  When we first walked up to her she appeared to be homeless and on drugs.  However after we explained to her what we do she asked for a Bible and a bracelet.  She thanked us for both the Bible and the bracelets.  While we were talking to her Brandon and I both noticed a man staring at us talking to her the whole time, we realized that it was her pimp.  We were thankful that he didn't get involved in our conversation even though he was in earshot of it.  We shortened our visit with her after that and walked away to talk to other homeless people in the area.  When we looked back her way just a few minutes later we watched as her pimp made a deal with a man for her body.  Sad to say not only was it her body that he was getting but I am also sure it was part of her very soul.  She had explained to us that she knew Jesus but this was a bad time in her life but she needed his hope.  We couldn't help but pray that once she was alone that she opened her Bible which we felt she was genuinely thankful for.

True story!

Everyone needs the hope that can only be found in Jesus!  Who are you sharing His hope with?

You Took Me Where??

You Took Me Where?

I, Cayman Bear Witness cannot believe where those Bair’s took me!

A few short weeks ago we went to this place called, The Castle in Tampa, Florida not once but twice!  Well the first time we went I thought hey this is a beary cool building.  It looks like a castle but its right here in the middle of town and I didn’t think castles were normally in the middle of town.  So needless to say I of course posed for several pictures around the outside of the building.  I did however notice looking through the peepholes that there was some scary things back there!  So scary in fact it’s a good thing this bear doesn’t wear bearritches!  That’s a term for you guessed it what they call pants and I am not talking about what a dog does either!  But back to the story!  On top of everything I saw that one wall was covered with barbed wire to keep people away!  I had to ask once we got in the car what in the bear world was going on?!

They then explained to me that it was a satanic nightclub and that the people that go there are really lost and that they need direction in order to find the TRUTH in a relationship with Jesus.  Well I couldn’t disagree after all I don’t know anyone that doesn’t NEED Jesus!  Plus He did say to go out to the World (Acts 1:8) and not just expect people to come up to us and start asking us about Him.  With that said I knew we needed to go back whenever people were there after all we do as God calls us to do and while there is still time left to show someone the love of Jesus before their eternity awaits them we must obey His calling wherever it is that He sends us and GO!

And so we did!  Only this time we got a greeting that we didn’t expect from a witch who was posted on the street corner almost like she was anticipating our arrival.  We prayed before we walked up the dark road to allow Brandon to talk to her.  When we got close near we let Brandon go on ahead to talk to her.  I and the rest of the Bair’s walked across the street to where we could keep an eye out on what was going on.  As Brandon walked towards her he hit the record button on his phones recorder and started talking to the witch.  The witch tried to tell him that the symbols meant death even though Brandon told her they meant the ultimate love that God has for us all.  While he was explaining the symbols to her especially the one where it means “He died” it was like her skin prickled up and indeed she looked like her skin was starting to crawl.  She said she didn’t believe in any of the symbols because if Christianity is the truth than those that claim to be Christians are way out of line with what God said and she wants nothing to do with a lifestyle that is based on nothing but hypocrisy!  She than gave us a stern warning to leave the area or deal with the repercussions.  After we walked away we decided to play the recording back but there was nothing there!  We do however have 2 videos concerning the night which (no pun intended at all) we hope to post.

Wait until we tell you about the other night we almost went to The Castle but didn’t!  God directed us elsewhere and what a blessing that was!

Well Bear folks I hope this journey has helped you to think about ways that you may be turning off people to Christ.  No doubt about it we must BE like the Christ we claim to be if not we are not doing anything but hurting His people and endangering the growing of the Kingdom of God.

With that in mind we will leave you with these final words:

Remember this is a spiritual battle that we are fighting!  God will win and you’d be surprise some of God’s greatest warriors were once Satanists their selves.  Thanks Brandon for your insight on this part for those of us who never walked that path!

It's a Bear Reunion

Family, what can be said but the word, LOVE!

Well maybe not always but we should as true Christians and Bears in Christ LOVE every one that we can!

It was great catching up with every Bear and one yesterday in a little town outside of Daytona Beach, Florida.  We had lunch together at a place called Bob Evans but none of us met him! However we did meet a bunch of beary awesome staff that were more than excited to hold ALL of us!  It was great to share God's word with them and they were thankful that we stopped in and even shared His words with them along with some Witness bracelets.  You know that's what all of this is about anyway, RIGHT???!!!!

You know every day people go into places and give tips to people that they don't know to be generous and kind to them but I have to ask myself and the rest of us are we sharing the greatest tip of them all to every bear and person that we meet?  What is more important to share the bread or to share THE BREAD of LIFE!  John 6:35 states, "Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

Notice in that last sentence before I gave the verse that I didn't ask a question?  It is so important to share God's words and love to EVERY BODY and Bear!  God did say it was a suggestion to do it either, no He said it as a COMMANDMENT!  Mark 12:30-31 says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’  The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Anyway it was great to see family and laugh and get caught up oh and have our mail brought in by the Bearmail Express!  I got to meet The Original Bears new friend the guy with the green Mohawk who enjoyed riding on shoulder of who they call, "The boy!!"  And than there's that guy that they call the pretty old lady.  I dunno about all this other stuff but it sure made me laugh!

Oh well I hear there's more stories to come about me going to Hard Rock Cafe International Offices and Bear going to Daytona but for write now it's time for me to go says my typist! (Yes, I know I used the wrong write and no I am not sure if two wrongs make a right but I do know my right from the left!)

Who are you Serving? by Cayman at The Holy Land

Who are you Serving?  By Cayman at The Holy Land

They call it The Holy Land Experience, I call it a Beary Pawesome Experience!  Same difference I guess but bear oh bear was I ever beary blessed when we got to go for FREE!  What a treat it was as being we’ve had some hardships most recently to still get to go someplace that our hearts desired.

I can’t begin to tell you how pawesome I thought The Holy Land was!  From the moment we got there and got in line to get our tickets we met some of the most wonderful people!  You know that’s what happens when God’s people hang out.  We meet people we don’t know but suddenly it’s like reconnecting with family.  Take the guy we met that is from Ohio.  He’s a chaplain at the prison and when Brandon and him started talking it was like they already knew it each other.  What was really great was after Brandon shared his story with him, the gentleman wanted his picture taken with him so he could share the picture along with Brandon’s testimony to the guys in the prison.  He figured his story would give the other guys in the prison hope in Jesus.  We shared a few witness bracelets with him and his family too!

Now the shows there were amazing!  Legna was all about a guy who meets an “angel” that helps remind him about his “lost” relationship with God.  Even though the man had some rough times with the loss of his mom, the “angel” reminds him that Jesus is always with us.  Talk about entertaining angels you never know who you are going to meet on the street when you serve!  This homeless man was indeed an angel in disguise!

The Passion show was beary pawesome and there is nothing in this world that compares to seeing the Lord who died for us being so realistically crucified on the cross.  Satan was indeed his pure evil self the whole time.  At the end however there was of course victory in Jesus.  That ole devil really needs to read the Bible, doesn’t He realize that God will always triumph over him?  The day warmed our hearts and moved us in ways that we will probably never be able to explain.  It reminded us however to be so beary thankful for the sacrifice He made for us.  Indeed Jesus didn’t need to give up His life to save us, but He did.  What have you done for Him who loves you so much lately?

I will not forget hearing either the Sermon on the Mount or having the fishes passed out to us.  Communion with Jesus is something people should experience on an everyday basis but having communion at the Holy Land was a beary special event.  The Scriptorium was also a beary amazing sight!  To behold such precious Bibles and scrolls and artifacts is something I will never forget!

We met a bunch of other people along the way to talk to about our mission and gave out over 20 witness bracelets.  We even got to see Dr. Bill again as he explained the World’s smallest replica of Jerusalem.

Oh and who could possibly forget Gabe?  The guy we met in one of the gift shops!  He was beary pawesome!  In face he already knew about me and knew about my symbols! He'd even talked to the BBB!  Big Bear Boss!

Oh and watch out for those TBN guys, they were continually trying to get me on video!

Buddy and I also enjoyed having lunch by the fountains that sing twice a day and from where we were sitting we could see the Ten Commandments up on a small hill.  I was disappointed that I didn’t see any bears there but of course Buddy was happy that we found some turtles.

I think one of the most important highlights however was the little chapel we found away from everything.  We sat down in there for a while just talking to Jesus.  We kept thinking on how life and the people outside were busy doing the hustle and bustle to see this and to do that and here we were just sitting.  We realized that it is more important to sit at His feet and talk to Him then rushing around doing this and that or try to impress Him or other people.  I hear there’s a story about Mary and Martha that concerns the same thing.  You can find it in the Bible in Luke 10:38-42, but it says in the NIV “38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.  Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Yes indeed it is sweeter to sit at His feet and listen than what it is to be distracted by trying to make an impression for those to feast their eyes on!  What’s more important to you I have to ask, doing what He commands of you or doing what you think may be pleasing to others?  If you are putting man before God ask yourself why do you love these other idols more than Him who gave eternal life to you!

Needless to say I highly recommend The Holy Land Experience for all my bear brothers and sisters but what I even more highly recommend is a relationship in constant communion with Him!  Put Him first today and everyday here after!

Cayman

Cayman Entertains an Angel near Hard Rock Cafe, Tampa

Whoa, Tampa Hard Rock Café was bearrific!

I met this guy named Ian that worked there that thought I was just as cool as what I was!  Seriously I’ve met a lot of the Hard Rock Café people in my travels but Ian was just awesome!  Of course maybe that had to do with the fact that he made me happy to represent Hard Rock Café by taking all sorts of pictures of me.  He said by far I was the coolest “bear” he’d ever seen!  He wanted to tell his supervisor that HRC needs to bring back the “cool kids” like me!  I’ve never seen someone enjoy their work so much, he smiled the whole time even when dealing with the other people that came up to him.  Bearly I say he had a positive attitude!  I beary much so loved it!  Ian also about flipped out over getting a Witness bracelet and requested that Buddy and I take a picture with him!

I enjoyed hanging out on stage at Hard Rock Café Tampa to see what I could see from there.  (No mountains included…you know the song, “The Bear went over the mountain?”)  I did notice however there were a bunch of microphones from a distance and I went to see what they were up to.  The shine from all of them about blinded me!  I tried to speak into them, but nothing came out!  I saw some more stuff related to that Elvis guy too!  Seriously I think I bearter do some investigating about him and his rockin’ hips!

The saddest part of going there however was the fact that down the road from HRC there were homeless people with signs asking for help.  Couldn’t get it out of my little bear mind that we need to set our priorities straight.  God first!  Why everyone can just walk past people like this to spend money on things they don’t need whenever people are hungry on the street is beyond me.  We gave one of the guys we could catch up with some water, he drank it down like a fish.  Reminded me of the day we found the guy dead on the side of the road that was homeless.  All these people around, it was a hot day and nobody could spare a drink of water, so he laid there dead.  Bearily I say to you we need to take care of the least of these!  For in doing so we may even entertain His angels.  Hey if you don’t believe me read the scripture in the Bible found in Hebrews 13:1-2 which says, “Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.  Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

Well I pray I’ve given you something to think about.  I enjoy being the cool kid but after all it is all about serving Him and His people, yes His people THE LEAST OF THESE!

Keep humble my friends!

Cayman

PS…..Stick around to hear more on what was done in Tampa as we took the symbols out to the people in the area!  After all that’s what we are here for!

I Cay"man" Went to Chinatown, Atlanta!

We went to the China Town Mall while in Atlanta.

It was beary interesting and I enjoyed looking over the bridge and seeing the big fish swim.  I couldn't believe the way some of the plants grow at that place!  I think they call them bearseye trees though I didn't see my reflection in any of them!

We were able to witness to one of the Chinese gentleman who told us other than his book store there are not many Chinese book stores left in the US!   I found this sad because having things such as Bibles in print is invaluable!

The gentleman told me that other than that store on the East coast the only other one is in New York!   Philadelphia and Washington, DC stores have both closed and the next closest is in Texas.  I found a Chinese/English Bible that I wanted but checked my pockets to realize they were empty!

They beary interesting papers there as well!  And they also had a bear size bridge that was beary amazing to me though I was glad I didn't fall off because of the huge fish swimming below it.  Some guys were also playing a very different version of Checkers.  I honestly thought that was a hamburger restaurant anyway but what does a bear know?  I don't know that I will ever understand Chinese but I do know that the Chinese people will always hold a special place in this Bears heart, after all they are God's people too!

BROTHER!!!! There you are!

BROTHER, there you are!

So this is what happens when 2 bears in the Bear Witness family get together!

There's been several great family reunions this week and I, Cayman was also blessed to get to meet one of my Bear Brothers named Jackson last week down in Georgia!  Wait that's up in Georgia because anyway we are in Florida now!  But anyway beary much so of course it was also great to meet Jackson's folk, Ann and Terry!

We met at the Chinese Christian Church in Atlanta in Tucker, Georgia.  While at the Chinese Church we enjoyed sharing Witness bracelets and Pastor Thomas Wang introduced us to the church and told everyone to make us feel welcome and of course they did!   It was of course an honor to share His story and the bracelets with those who came up to receive one.   The service was of course beary Pawesome!   Jackson and I of course thought it would be fun to get a unique picture sitting on the brick sign of the church! Thankfully our lady folks survived the hilly walk but they said it was worth it.  We couldn't resist the view of course!!

From there we went to lunch at IHop by the treat of Jackson's folk!  It was beary pawesome indeed!

Bear be to say it it meeting Jackson, Ann and Terry and sharing with the Chinese Church made for a Pawesome day and a one of a kind experience!   One day we'll be back in Atlanta and we'll do it again!

Check out our other post concerning our time in the Atlanta, GA.  There's actually 3 posts concerning our time in Atlanta.  One also concerns our time in downtown Atlanta where Brandon was able to really speak to someone who had a big change of heart by they end of their conversation!

Stay thirsty for the Lord's work and praise Him with all your heart!

Oh and if you meet another brother or sister Bear along the way don't do what we did!  We about knocked each other out in excitement and when we said Goodbye!

Wait........GOODBYE???

No that's not on this Bear's vocabulary, till we meet again Brothers and Sisters in Christ may He be with us both shining and guiding us with His light!

Lots of bear hugs and prayers,

Ramblin' for Christ once again Cayman

Cayman, Downtown Atlanta Missionary!

Oh Atlanta you were beary interesting, beary interesting indeed!

Last week we were in Atlanta, Georgia and wow I bearly know where to start explaining what we did.  I think I’ll keep it bearly simple this time because my typist says that her editor says that sometimes I get way too excited when I started explaining what’s been going on.  But bearily I say to you that’s sometimes it’s hard to cut it short when I see all the amazing things my God does!

Ok back to the story so we arrived in Atlanta and got settled in to Stone Mountain State Park Campground.  Behind us across the water the only thing you could see was this HUGE rock sitting up in the air.  It was beary pawesome though!

We got a good night’s sleep and the next day we took the drive into downtown Atlanta.  The first person we met in Atlanta was a homeless gentleman named Scott.  He told us about what it is like to be homeless in Atlanta.  He said that even though there are some places to sleep at night and get a bath that whenever it comes to needing simple money it’s hard to come by.  Seems as though when you are homeless in that area you can find a place to bathe and sleep but if you want to do your laundry you have to pay for it at the shelter.  I, BW-C finds this practice a little unfair after all if you get a place to sleep and a place to bathe would good is it but when you get out of the bath but to put dirty clothes on?  Bearily I say to you no one really knows what being homeless is like unless they have been there.

While we were in the downtown area I had the urge to go to Hard Rock Café and see if any of my family members may be there!  You see I have this thing I’d like to go to all of the Hard Rock Café’s if possible!  I’ve also discovered that HRC is a great place to witness and share the love of Jesus at!  But anyway we get there and we are greeted by Chandra!  Boy did she and her manager ever give us the star treatment!  They even sat me on this guy name Elvis Presley’s motorcycle.  He’s supposed to be famous and I heard he had some rockin’ hips and lips!  It’s told he even sung one song about Bears!  At any bear, the manager introduced us to Patty back at the gift shop and she took us on a whirlwind tour of the café!  The Bair’s even took a picture of me and her in front of the Hard Rock Café sign!  It’s normally a reserved area but they really liked me enough to treat me like a star!  So much so that after the sign they even thought it was proper to put me in a class case after they sat me on top of a drum!  We gave out a lot of Witness bracelets there!  Hard Rock always seems like they have long term employees because someone there always seems to remember my relatives passing thru years ago!  Beary much so it’s always just great to visit my Hard Rock Café family even if I don’t meet any of my bear brothers!  I can bearly express what a good time I had at Hard Rock Café!

We met a guy in Atlanta who touched our hearts in many ways.  He was very knowledgeable about occultism practice but ultimately he just wants to learn the real truth in love.  When the oldest male Bair explained to this gentleman that he to had experienced things of the same nature years ago the guy really opened up to Brandon.  Brandon let him know about the symbols and he explained to him the meaning of each of them.  He told him that if he was really looking for real truth in love that he could find it with a relationship with Jesus.  By the end of the conversation the guy asked specifically for a red bracelet and put it on his wrist.  He said if more people would go out and share the love of Jesus the way it was just shared to him that the world would be a better place.  We left downtown Atlanta after that knowing that our mission there was complete!

I also kept seeing a signs that said Marta.  I asked who this Marta was?  So the Bairs took me underground and let me see this Marta.  I rode down and up a group of moving stairs and rode on the railing!  By the way this bear finds it crazy that one must wait in line 15 minutes to pay to park in Atlanta.

Oh and whoa bear it but we met a professional NFL player to from the Tennessee Titans.  We didn't get our picture with him but he got a bracelet from us!  Met him while exploring a hotel that the Sandra Bair had visited a long time ago!  You should have seen the parking lot at that hotel..................beary fancy cars!  That's also where we met a friend of Lydia Bear Witness, the "purple lady."

Well back to Tampa as we are here in Tampa, Florida now!  Keep us in your Bear prayers for God to provide our needs as we have had some unexpected things come up!

That’s it for now!  Have a beary blessed day!

Lots of bear hugs,

Bear Witness Cayman

Cayman at the Chinese Christian Church

Cayman at the Chinese Christian Church

“I can’t bearly begin to explain how beary blessed we were to attend the Chinese Christian Church at Clemson this past Sunday.  It was through nothing but by divine appointment that we managed to show up there besides I don’t believe in luck, just God.  The lady Bair had been doing some praying about direction (actually we all have) and she just felt led to look up information concerning the Chinese community between the Greenville, SC and Atlanta, GA area.  At any paw somehow the lines connected to get us in contact with Elder Dr. Hwu and so on Sunday we attended the Chinese Christian Church.

We cannot begin to say how much we were moved by our surroundings.  The church is made up mostly of Clemson students that have come from China to study abroad.  There were approximately 60 people there on this particular Sunday.  It was beary neat as the worship music began and was displayed on the screen both in Chinese Mandarin Characters and in English.  The Holy Spirit filled the room as the worshippers began to sing in Chinese.  It was too beautiful to interrupt by singing in English, but even if the words would not have been on the screen the peace that only comes with the filling of the Holy Spirit could be felt within the music itself.  I can still beary much so hear one of the songs play partially in my head.

We moved over to the sermon and it was such a blessing to hear such a timely message.  The Elder spoke the beginning of the message while two of the teenagers took turns speaking the English interpretation after it was spoken in Mandarin.  The funny part came whenever smiles just seem to come from nowhere as well as laughter.  It’s beary funny how I really realized again at that moment that laughter and a smile don't come in any particular language. No, a smile and laughter is understood in ALL languages no matter what!  It is like the symbols I wear; they can be understood in any language!

We took Communion and it was a totally different experience than any other Communion.  The sanctity of the taking of the body and bread came alive in a way that we had never experienced before.  It would be hard to express unless you were there, but it was indeed beautiful.

From there we were released to having a fellowship lunch, and while meals were being served, Brandon was given an opportunity to tell everyone about the symbols and the bracelets.  He let them know we would give anyone that wanted a bracelet one, and by the time it was done we gave out over 80 bracelet’s including those who wanted two or wanted to take one home to a loved one.  In a video we made concerning this you can see Brandon speaking to everyone in English and then Dr. Hwu translates what he says into Mandarin Chinese.  (We hope to have that video out shortly. We have very limited internet connection where we currently are, hence the reason for delays in posting.)

I found out from Dr. Hwu that when teaching the History of Jesus to others the Chinese use their 5 fingers to teach the same story that my 5 symbols teach!  I could bearly imagine that and was just taken aback on exactly how all that does work.  Imagine that starting in their pinkies they say that Jesus came from heaven, then their ring finger teaches that He died on the cross for our sins, the middle finger teaches that he rose from the grave, the index finger teaches that he ascended into Heaven and on their thumbs they teach that He is coming back!  WOW!  I found out just how true this was after we had sat down for a traditional Chinese lunch of rice, broccoli and chicken so cheerfully given to us already on plates.  Some of the children had come up wanting bracelets. One had already gotten one, but beary much so how could I complain, I wouldn't deny any of these children anything just as Jesus doesn’t deny His children (us) of our needs.  At any bear after we let them pick the color bracelet they wanted. They asked again what they meant and the momma Bair explained that it is just like how you are taught on your 5 fingers the story of Jesus.  She pointed them out and told them, “Jesus, He came, He died, He arose, He ascended and He’s coming back!”  At that the one little boy said, "Oh I got it" and used his fingers on each of the symbols to show what they meant!  Momma Bair told him he did a great job and then she gave them each high 5 as once again that universal language of a simple smile kicked in as they more or less skipped away!  I couldn't help but smile again.

Speaking of cheerful giving, like how lunch was so generously served to us, what has happened that people cannot simply serve others like this without wanting in return?  Where are all the cheerful givers?  If we are of God, why are we not serving and loving like Him?  If we are made in His image why are we not acting like it?

At that, the Momma Bair explained to Dr. Hwu the story of the Original Bear Witness.  How Leigh was a missionary in China and went to the Hard Rock Café in Beijing where she met Bear and then took him home to meet the rest of her family.  She then told him the story of how he became possibly the World’s smallest missionary.  She also told him the story of just how the multiplication of Bears came about!    Dr. Hwu smiled throughout this story. In the meantime, the older Bair Brandon was talking to Ms. Betty the lady that leads the AWANA’S at the church.  She was asking if she could have a bracelet for each one of the kids and then even invited us to come by sometime and see her!  I beary much so bet that we take her up on her pawesome offer of kindness!

Well it’s about time for me to go, but I want to leave you with some closing thoughts.  Dr. Hwu let us know how thankful he was that we had come to their church, he asked so many times what they could do for us and indeed they did bless us.  He thanked us for being respectful by not trying to come in and show them how to do their ministry.  You know we need to be respectful of how people especially those of other culture do the ministry work God gave them.  This is another reason why the symbols bridge such a big gap and why we need to do exactly like it says in Galatians 3:28 and remember that we are all in this together and are all equal.  When Cory the middle Bair explained to Dr. Hwu that one day he’d like to go to Asia to do missionary work, he asked him what was the most important thing to learn, and Dr. Hwu told him, “Learn the culture and learn the language.”  I beary much so agree with him if you want to teach someone something you need to be respectful and learn about them first.  Do not think you can simply come in and show people your way whenever they have values and traditions of their own.  Be respectful of people’s worldview and simply if you want to express the importance of a relationship with Jesus show them through you that the most important thing to do in the whole situation is love your neighbor as yourself and as you would our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus!

It’s so beary easy to fall in love with others if you will let God do the leading and look in the heart!

Well my typist says it’s time for me to go. so on that note. I will just say to all my new brothers and sisters in Christ at the Chinese church, “I’ll be back!  THANK YOU!  GOD BLESS YOU!”  Oh yes and next time I visit I will have to get you to please show me the right way to read Psalm 23!

Some Bear or is that Some Bair Encouragement

Well normally I (Cayman) have the stories to share about where I've been and what I've experienced in my bearabouts but today I just want to share with you a different kind of experience.  One that I pray will beary much so bring encouragement your way!  Hum was I part poet there?  I know it, cause I am a bear!   Lather, rinse, repeat...........yup ain't I beary sweet!

Anyway the story I'd like to share is a copy and paste of a post momma Bair Sandra shared just a few weeks ago.  It's the story of the last 17 years that she's served Him.  To I beary much so feel it's fair that you are entitled to hear the background story of who I am hanging out with!

She writes:

"Wow it’s been 17 years since I felt God calling me to serve Him in ministry!  I can’t begin to express or even explain how the last 17 years of my life have meant to me.  To be serving God in whatever capacity that He has given me has been incredible.  There have been a lot of ups and there has been a lot of downs, but I know in it ALL God and God alone has carried me through.  I could not have made it this far unless He carried me through it ALL.

I remember the day it was laid on my heart like it was yesterday.  There were some things going on that my friend called me up to address me with at her church.  She said it was amazing people were coming in and out and shouting at each other and even though the outside sign said, “No God, No Peace, Know God, Know Peace” she said she felt like none of them really knew Him.  I told her the calling that was laid on my heart and of some of the confirmations that had found me since I started praying to God about what to do.  I let her know than at that time that God wants us to be in peace with each other and that we are all in this together (Galatians 3:28) and that we are to be ONE in Him with no divisions.  He wants us to follow His Great Commission found in Acts 1:8 and we are to be His church of FOLLOWERS and not just fans!  After all anyone can wave a fan and show support from the sidelines!  He gave me the name of New Hope Christian Ministries as a reminder that we had a NEW HOPE in Him and that meant that we needed to remind people we are in this ALL TOGETHER!  There’s not to be any separation in the BODY of Christ we are ALL part of the body and it ALL needs to work together!   He gave me Philippians 4 and reminded me that we are supposed to pour everything into Him and let His PEACE surround us!  That we can be content in ALL circumstances!

I registered for college that week at John Wesley College for a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry and Christian Counseling.  I stayed there and endured some hardships that eventually turned around to glorify God and God alone.  I left when I felt Him say you need to be out there with my people, they are not all going to come to you!  Acts 1:8

I left there and started preaching and teaching on Sundays at a flea market until many said we need a building.  I listened to them instead of God and learned a few months later a crash course in humility that I will never forget!  It turned out to be beneficial to God’s kingdom for my wrong decision at the time in many, many ways!  Seems like God is still working just like He did for Joseph all those years ago.

Time passed and I over the years I have done many many things for Christ.  Including starting a petition to get prayer back in school that went into 26 different states.  My home even got shot into because of it and many other crazy things happened!  Can you tell each of these things is indeed a story in itself?  I can tell you that in all of it there was a BUT God moment!  If not BUT for God things would turn out so differently!

Years later I find myself finally earning my Certificate in Christian Ministries and being a member of the American Association of Christian Counseling.  I am till pursing the degree and the first part of it took me 16 years to get, but by God’s grace I achieved it!  I am a minister to God’s gospel and with Him left the “world” as we know it a little over 3 months ago to really start doing more and more of what He led me to do 17 years ago.  Sometimes I wonder if I have lost time in this process but than I remember it took each and every step to get me to where I am today and I love where I am today!  I am on a mission from God to share His words to those who may not hear it any other way!

Many years ago someone told me I couldn’t change the world doing God’s work!  I told them they were wrong, of course I could!  I just want to say right here and right now that I am glad I didn’t listen to them and I am glad that I have followed God’s calling on my life!  Yes to I have to admit they are semi sorta right, I can’t change the world but by doing God’s work that He has me to do God can change the world by using me as His vessel!

By the way Facebook it’s a global thing and so are some of my other projects!  Yes indeed so I am being seen all over the world as God’s vessel and I love every minute of it!  I just wanted to say that I am glad that I have been obedient over the years!  There have been many causes for delays and many reasons to stop but why would I want to give up the world God has given me whenever I can share what He is doing and will do through using me to honor and glorify Him.

I am blessed and proud to be His child!

I will keep on keeping on and I will keep on holding on to Him!  He is faithful, He is my rock and He will never disappoint me!"

God bless each of you!

Searching for God? Here's Your Sign! A New Christian!

He was a Muslim seeking God attending a Satanist festival until he got in the vehicle with the oldest guy Bair, Brandon led by the Holy Spirit on Monday!!!
WOW!
So we've bee
n doing some work beary quietly in the background this last week.   We are camped out at the top of the road where a Satanist "art/love" festival is being held.   A few tent campers even set up their tent in front of us on the 2nd night but left the next morning. Maybe because of something that a Bair said to them, who knows!
But this morning a guy shows up at the campground lost!   He knew where he parked days ago at the beginning of the festival and he cooked for the staff while at the festival but once he started walking he couldn't remember where to go!   However God let him to where we were.
Brandon knew where he was parked and so he drove him to the place.   Along the way at the top of the road where everyone had to go past to get to the festival we had posted the below sign that Brandon made.   The sign as you can see let's people know what THE TRUTH REALLY is!   The sign was turned over numerous times through out the week but somehow it survived! Hum...BUT GOD!
So when they rode by the sign Brandon asked the guy if he knew what that sign meant.   He didn't so Brandon began to explain to him the TRUTH about Jesus and let the guy know Jesus is the ONLY way to REAL life and that Jesus is love!
By the time they got to where the guy had parked Brandon asked the guy if he had a few minutes to talk more.   The guy resounded with a joyous, "YES, I'd love to!'   So they talked more. At the end of the conversation the guy thanked Brandon for telling him the truth and sharing the REAL love of Jesus!   This former Muslim who had spent all week at the Satanist "art/love" fest than put on the green Witness bracelet that Brandon gave him.   He told Brandon he would never take it off and once again thanked him for telling him the truth about REAL love!   He thanked Brandon for helping change his life and now there's one more person that's going to live eternally in heaven one day!   Seems like even the bonfire's of hell being lit this week can't stop God from rescuing those who truly want to find the REAL ONE TRUE GOD!
What had kept him from accepting a relationship with Christ for so long was people just being religious and not having a true relationship with Christ.   He thanked Brandon for showing him that Christianity isn't about a religion or just sitting in the church pew but that it is about a relationship with God and not just the practicing of some religious exercise. The religious exercises being that people are just simply trying to tell people how to have a "spiritual" life rather than actually having a relationship with the one true God, Jesus.   As Gandhi once said and here is a 21st century story to go along with it, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians.   Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”   Ask yourself today are you really being like Christ or are you just practicing a "religion?"

Please all you Bear folk pray for our new brother in Christ.

Oh and here's a picture of me out THE SIGN!

But God

But God

Recently we went to the smallest and coolest church in NC!  Bear in mind though I must say however that it also had a HUGE presence of the Holy Spirit!  Recovery Inc. Ministries in Thomasville, NC is the beary place I am talking about!  Pastor’s Fly and Darlene are PAWESOME!  The worship music though just done by different cd’s, was booming by God’s presence!

They asked us to get up and speak to so we did!  Brandon one of the Bair’s felt led to use the time to let people know about our mission and also his recovery process.  You see that’s how we all met Pastor’s Fly and Darlene to begin with!  You see when Brandon was going through a lot of things while living in “the world” and seeking recovery he met Pastor Fly and Fly well honestly he’d seen Brandon at some of his worst moments while he was dealing with addictions.  BUT God and only God at that time knew what was to come!  Much bigger and better things!  So as Brandon got down on his knees to explain what he did when he fully surrendered his life and addictions over to God people became moved by his testimony.  They all knew it was a BUT God moment!  You see he had tried many, many other ways to get recovery but it wasn’t until he got down on his knees and completely surrendered to God that recovery happened.  It’s true since then no drug and no alcohol addiction of any kind!  See trying all sorts of different ways never mattered, BUT God and UNTIL God!

As that moment moved to the next he was able to tell everyone what God has done since and what God is doing now.  How He led the Bair’s and this Bear to pack up what we could and hit the road full time for Christ and serve His people in the process!

We left them a bunch of Witness bracelet’s to give out and someone even posted a picture of one just yesterday that they were finally able to go over and get at Recovery Inc.  They in turn gave us a huge amount of books for the homeless including Spanish versions of the same devotionals as well as a children’s book in both English and Spanish.

Well time for this Bear to be on his way or should I say His way and get back to work!

I beary much so pray that you’ve gained some hope and encouragement!

Big Bear Bair thanks to Pastor’s Fly and Darlene for their love through the years and their encouragement and prayers!

Lastly remember this one thing:  No bear, no Bair or no one ever really knows what God is up to so just have faith that in the end there will always be a silver lining and you to will be able to say,

“BUT GOD!!”

In His love and service,

Cayman

My Journey with New Bethel by Cayman

I can’t complain about being a Bear or hanging out with the Bair’s!  In the last few months we have sure had our share of Bear Bair hair raising stories!

To start with I caught up with them about the time they were selling everything that they could to hit the road with just their car and their tent to take God’s word out to the people that need to hear it!  They said they needed to do like Jesus did and follow the Great Commission as found in Acts 1:8.  I couldn’t resist this opportunity to travel around and go from place to place with my Witness gear ministering to the homeless and others in need.  What made it grand was also getting trained by THE original Bear Witness who had traveled out with the Bair’s to a homeless camp!  They even spray painted the symbols on a tent house and made a video about it!

We’ve been to a bunch of beary interesting places since we left and met all sorts of different folks!  Among some of the places we have been include several visits out to Tent City in SC and other homeless camps all over the place.  What we do first is take just ourselves and a bunch of Witness bracelets out to the camps and from there we share the love of Jesus and find out what people need!  Later we go back and if possible bring them back what they have requested!  This ranges from Bibles to hygiene items to pet food to water and to everything else in between!  We’ve been out to a shelter in SC giving a Bible study and we listened to a guy play piano!  We’ve spoke at churches including a biker church where I got to hang out on podium that was made out of the front of a motorcycle!  Had a broke down car but not to fear Bear Witness to the rescue!  I even finally attended my very first Celebrate Recovery meeting in VA.  We’ve been in 4 states thus far and I am starting to forget where I’ve been!  I beary much so need to spend some time using the journal that was sent to me and the other Bair’s from a special a-mond in California least my brain goes bare and I forget where I’ve been!

We also have spent many hours working at a campground to start paying off the RV God blessed us with within the first two months of leaving home!  That’s where I learned some of my lessons in obedience!  (Deuteronomy 11:1, John 14:15, Revelation 14:12)  I mean not to say that THE Bear Witness isn’t a good teacher cause you bearter believe the he beary much so is in fact over lunch just Sunday it was confirmed by the BBB (Big Bear Boss) how awesome Bear beary much so is!  Our one true leader God though sometimes calls us to do some really crazy things but I sure have learned as long as you are following the path He puts you on He will never leave or forsake you and He will even carry you thru!  We sure have learned to be content and peaceful too!  Our Lord has sure given us strength!  (Psalm 23, Philippians 4:4-13)  We have also encouraged others as we have joyously went forward with our calling!  (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Well that’s a wrap for me for now!

Wait bear scratch that!  I heard the folks are praying for direction and financial needs to be met to keep things going as their resources are getting low and they’ve had some unfortunate circumstances!  Seems like whenever you’re doing what God needs you to do the enemy tries to attack!  However whenever God’s true people stand together as one the enemy can and will be defeated!  So to be able to do what we’ve been called to do and keep the commission God’s sent us on we need your help!  We could definitely use some prayer for direction and if anyone would like for us to come visit please let us know and we will show up with big hearts ready to help!  There’s some amazing testimony within the family as well and there’s lots for us to offer when we show up!  So brother’s and sister’s and Bears get in touch with us, invite us out and if God’s in it, we will show up!

Tent City... under the bridge

These pictures are from a place called Tent City which is under a bridge in a mid-size southern city. The folks you see here will be moving on soon... some because they want to, and some because they have to. The city fathers, with the support of some of the local ministries, are restricting this area, but are offering help to the residents to find housing and/or new locations. As we find out more, we'll be posting. Stay tuned to see if this "well meaning" effort is successful and has no unintended consequences.

To Tent City we went today to pass out baby wipes and soaps in baggies, toothbrushes with covers, toothpaste, deodorant, baby powder, lotion, cat food & Witness bracelets!
Lisa who Brandon & Tim met the other day was so happy to get cat food for the cats she takes care of! We met a guy who just this past week became homeless for the first time in 40+ years! He cried when he was given the Witness bracelets we gave out and said that they gave him hope! It was nice to let him and the others know that people really DO care about them! He's the guy wearing a black shirt showing off his new Witness bracelet! I got wished Happy Mother's Day a good half a dozen time! We met a lady named "V" who if you didn't meet her there you would never guess she was homeless! We need to find a pair of size 13W work boots for a big and tall guy who has worn his down to the point that they need duck tape to work! Yes he has a job and YES he needs GOOD shoes for work! He got there because his last landlord didn't do what he was supposed to do to keep up with the Section 8 house he was in, leaving him on the streets! We met a lady named "D" that is having problems with her kidneys and promised her we'd bring her some Apple Cider Vinegar next time we came! The guys and gals of course requested socks! Than there was the young lady with the little 4 week old puppy that needs puppy food! We seen a port a potty made out of wood, cleaned out pots for cooking, 3 huge plastic containers that hold water that is brought into them once a month and of course many tents and a lot of people! One request they have is because the "City" is split it two is to have someone come in with a truck to help them get rid of the trash that is piled up! Yes believe it or not they DO care that they have trash piled up! We found the words, "God is Great, Deal with it!" along with some scripture on the side of a tent! Wow sounds positive doesn't it? And to think ALL day long you thought you had it so bad? REALLY!?!?!?!! Making you think? GOOD!
Well we promised them we'd come back!
But you know what?
We NEED YOUR HELP to do so!
Is there any way that you can help us help spread the love of Jesus?
Please let us know, finances are SHORT, so short! But we know God's up to something, He has to be there are too many people there that need help and this is ONLY one place!
Thanks for reading this post and please keep us in your prayers!
We need you but more importantly these people need to be shown that God really DOES indeed love them and wants to meet them wherever they are even if it's in a tent with duct tape shoes! BTW that same big and tall guy, yeah he cried and wanted us to pray with him!
Do you think for one moment these missions are worth it?
THEY ARE!
Help us if you can!
God bless!
